My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Foster or Adopter Needed for Max! Max's life turned upside down when his owner passed away and he ended up on the streets. He then landed in the PG shelter for 5 weeks ultimately finding himself on the urgent list. Unfortunately, his foster didn't work out and now he is boarding and hoping for a second chance! Max is a gentle giant weighing over 90 lbs and is 7 years old. Max isn't a fan of small animals, so a home without little dogs or cats is best. He also has separation anxiety, so he would thrive with someone who works from home or is retired. If you can be Max's hero and provide him a loving home, please apply now! Let's give Max the happy ending he deserves.July 5, 2024, 11:42 am

Go meet their pets

We are a rescue that is dependent on volunteers as we do not have a physical building. We rent space at a kennel in Upperco, Md. If you would like to meet one of our dogs please contact us to make arrangements. Thanks!

More about this rescue

Adopt a Homeless Animal Rescue (AAHA) is a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and assisting animals in crisis. We actively combat animal cruelty in any form.

We have a particular commitment to pit bulls and aim to raise awareness about the breed, help those in need, and educate the public:
•We seek to promote this lovely yet unfairly maligned breed as the sweet, intelligent, affectionate, and people-oriented dogs they are.
•We assume stewardship over their well-being and strive to make this world a better place for them.
•We serve as a resource and/or liaison for shelters, individuals, and the community at large, advocating for any animal in harm's way.
•We also function in an advisory role for private citizens who seek assistance and guidance in better caring for their pets.

We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Please help us help the animals!
