My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Lefty,

Male - neutered
Domestic Short Hair
Approx. 5 years old

I'm a lovable, chatty guy ready for my forever home! Feeling like your life may just be a little to quiet? I'm want some may say a "chatty Cathy" but with all good intentions! Don't worry about disturbing me while watching your favourite sports teams or newest drama series, I'll ready for all the entertainment or relaxation. I'll be your trusty companion right by your side, you'll wonder how you ever managed without me!

My reactions to:

Dogs - I haven't interacted with many furry canines, as I can be cautious of new things I may need sometime to adjust to have a doggy friend
Cats - I enjoy the company of my other friendly feline friends at the shelter. Given my lovable personality if the other kitty displays the same characteristics we'll be good pals
Meeting New People - I can be slightly cautious when meeting new people, treat me kind, give me some gentle pets and I'll come around very quickly
Children - I haven't interacted with many children, as I can be cautious new things I would benefit from a slow introduction. Don't worry though I'll quickly be their best bud
Litterbox - I use my litterbox with ease. Some might even say I'm a smart cookie!
Playtime - Anything you want to do I'll do it with you. I prefer playtime with someone who can flick my feather toys as a chase it back and forth though if you'd prefer a relaxing day, we can snuggle on the couch

Additional adoption info

All pets available for adoption through the Georgina Animal Shelter and Adoption Centre are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and will have received a parasite preventative or treatment. Adoption fees are $300 for dogs and $175 for cats plus tax. If applicable, the purchase of a pet license will be required at the time of adoption.

Before considering pet adoption, potential pet parents are encouraged to do their own research on the type of pet that they are interested in adopting. Different breeds, for example, can have very different exercise needs or may be prone to certain genetic conditions. It is also a good idea to speak with your local veterinarian to gain insight about the type of pet you are considering adopting and the initial and yearly animal care costs involved with pet ownership.

All adoptions require an application and an in person or phone consultation prior to be being approved.
