My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Here it is ! What you have been waiting for in a senior dog.  One of the greatest dog smiles of all times! And if that dazzling smile doesn’t reel you in , Odie will win you over with his mesmerizing eyes. Odie is a 9 year old Lab/Aussie mix boy who a wonderfully perfect Southern gentleman. Mellow, sweet, polite, affectionate and just enough goofy to make him the perfect package. He has fit right in with a 12 year old senior lab mix roomie and has offered nothing but smiles and wags when meeting the neighborhood dogs and their humans. This boy is 80 pounds and all muscle and is on a little weight loss plan with his foster dad walking him several times daily. He is a healthy boy in every way but as with age, he does have some pesky arthritis in his hips.  He is really not a big fan of stairs. We can tell you that  Odie is always up for some backyard time or a brisk walk in the woods. Keep a towel handy too, he loves to jump in the pond or river! As mentioned, great with dogs and people. Not sure about cats. Grey squirrels are a no, but again what dog DOESN’T chase a squirrel?  We are actually amazed and pleased to report that when meeting a toad this evening he just wanted to make friends and play! So there you have it. Odie is special, a peach, a great walking partner, he will become your shadow, he will lay at your feet, offer you a paw, chase the tennis ball, show off his water skills, clean the lawn of sticks and fill your home with incredible positive doggy energy.  Maybe you should pay Odie to come live with you.   Or just gather up an adoption fee to take home a remarkable well-seasoned blue eyed  Southern Gentleman from Tennessee and make him your very own.  Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com

PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.

More about this rescue

We are a group of dedicated rescue people who want to save as many dogs and cats from the local shelters before they are euthanized. On the average....there are only 1 out of 10 animals that get adopted from a shelter. We are dedicated to helping increase pet adoptions by offering a shelter animal a foster home to go to while awaiting an adoptive family to find them on our Petfinder website. Won't you please adopt a shelter animal? Or won't you please help us foster a shelter animal while we are looking for their perfect home? What a gift you can give a dog or cat by giving them a place to feel safe and secure....a forever home or a foster home. Won't you help us at Critter Companion Rescue give them a chance to have a life?
