For Adopt a Pet and the PEDIGREE® brand, October is all about finding homes for dogs in shelters. Adopt this month for a PEDIGREE® Wet Food Pouch and a chance to win a Homecoming-style photo shoot and shelter donation.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Bruno (I have a short video!)
PLEASE NOTE- AN APPLICATION FROM THE WEBSITE ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG IS REQUIRED prior to any meet and greet. Calling, emailing and using the “contact us” link is not useful and will delay your consideration in the adoption of the dog. Petfinder inquires are not sent to us.
Bruno lived with his family for 10 years until his owner wasn't able to care for him any longer. He is a spunky guy, only ten pounds, with a wonderful personality everyone he meets falls in love with. Bruno is immediately friendly with anyone he has met and would be fine with children respectful of small dogs. He loves leash walks and pulls a little with excitement, but manageable. Great with dogs, cats and very small kids. Good in his crate (but would love to sleep with you too.
Because Bruno's guardian was a senior he wasn't taken outside in the last 2 years, so he's doing well working on his re-housetraining while in foster care. Bruno will still need to be on a schedule for hourly or bi-hourly breaks. Belly bands inside the house can work well if needed until he's completely reliable.
Bruno is perfectly fine being a lap dog or a hiking buddy. He should remain on leash-currently ready to go off on an adventure with or without you. Loves space to run-a secure fence would be wonderful.
Bruno is a happy dog that is looking for a loving companion, someone with patience to work with him and keep him safe on his new journey.
APPLY AT ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG (click on the word "Adopt" at top of page to find the dropdown menu with application)
The senior adoption fee is $200, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including age appropriate vaccinations, worming, flea/tick preventative and spay/neuter. All of our dogs will be microchipped.
Because our dogs are in foster homes, applications are required prior to setting up any appointments. Calling or emailing may delay your consideration. Find our application on our website, almosthomedogs.org, then click on "Adopt" tab at top
We are a non profit no kill 501 (c)3 rescue. Please understand that we do our best to describe our dogs but often we rescue them with virtually no information about them and often our best educated guess can be challenging. Currently check, cash or venmo is preferred payment.
