My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Olive Oil (known as Chi-Chi to her foster family) is a silly, funny, precious little girl. She is ready to find her FurEver family!!!

Chi Chi is a bit timid when she first meets people but will melt into your arms and enjoy cuddles once she trusts you.

Chi Chi was a semi feral stray Chihuahua mix puppy that was found running the streets in TX with her brother. She has been in foster with one of our dog trainers that specializes in timid, shy dogs.

Chi Chi is adorable, she's is full of personality, loves to play with the other dogs and does zoomies when she plays by herself. She has lots of energy that is super fun to watch. She also loves to cuddle up in her dog bed or in your lap and be rocked in a rocking chair.

She loves her kennel, it is her safe place! Her Foster mom has taught her kennel training, socializing with dogs and humans, leash training in the house and yard & doggie door training.

There are lots of other dogs at her foster moms house so we know she is dog friendly, her foster doesn't have any cats but thinks she might be fine with them if introduced properly.

She thinks she would do better in a home with adults or older children. Another confident or playful dog would be wonderful as she loves to wrestle and play, but not necessary.

Please consider this adorable girl as a part of your family. She deserves all the kindness and will give you a lifetime of affection. The shy dogs become the most loyal dogs, who adore their humans. She will need to be introduced to her new world slowly.

Her foster mom is located in Fort Collins Colorado and wants to find a patient adopter, who is willing to do a minimum of one paid training session with her. This training session is NOT basic obedience, but instead, is designed for rescue dogs and teaches the adopter how to work to build the dogs confidence and overcome any trauma the dog may have experienced. This training will help the family and this sweet dog adjust to their new life together much quicker than trying to do it on your own. She provides a discount on training to her adopters.

Go meet their pets

Over 75% of our dogs are in foster homes along the front range. The foster will get in touch to schedule meetings for their foster dog. Meetings will happen in/near their homes since that is where the dog is the most comfortable. We do want you to bring family members (human and dog) to the meeting! Dogs who are currently at our Windsor facility will have meetings there and a volunteer will reach out to schedule those meetings with you. Please be aware that we do not place our dogs on a first come, first served basis, but rather a best-fit placement. Never fear, applications are valid for a year so if the first dog you meet isn't a good fit, we will have plenty of time to find one that is.
