My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, I’m Frankie! After a wild life on the streets of San Antonio and raising my last litter of pups under a house (yes, I'm quite the adventurer), I’m ready to hang up my mothering duties and retire in style. I had a close call in a high-kill shelter in San Antonio where my pups got adopted. Thankfully, I was saved just in the nick of time from euthanasia the night before by my foster mom. I’m about 6 years old and I’m just about knee high and 40 pounds.

I’m on the lookout for a special human—someone who can shower me with attention, love, and be my ultimate bestie. I dream of a chill and gentle home where I can truly shine. Sure, I might be a bit shy at first, but once I warm up, I’m all tail wags and happy vibes.

I come with some impressive skills: I’m potty trained, crate trained, and I’m even learning to heel and walk on a leash like a pro. I’m picking up good manners too, like sitting before meals and waiting politely to go outside.

I’m the perfect couch companion and happy to relax at your feet for hours without making a peep or sunbathing while you garden. I'm not much of a barker and toys are still a mystery to me. Adopt me, and let’s make each other’s lives complete!
IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.

Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adopt

All of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.

ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location.

Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transport

We understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.November 4, 2024, 11:33 am

More about this rescue

We're a home-based rescue, so there's always someone around to care for the dogs. Most of our dogs are allowed to roam the main yard (as long as they behave themselves), and we have several food and water stations throughout. Every evening, the dogs are tucked into our kennel building with soft bedding.

Our focus is family-friendly dogs who get along with everyone. Of course, we sometimes don't know a dog's temperament until we meet, but we work hard to ensure dogs are going to the right homes for them.

Mission Statement
To provide rescue, rehabilitation and new loving homes for dogs that have been living on the street, abused, abandoned and removed from high kill shelters.
