My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Where are my adopters at that need cat friendly dogs? Your girl is me! I am she! She is me! I am Daphne!

I am 40 pounds and just over 2 years old.  I sit like a perfect lady on car rides, but I can get motion sick when driving for extended periods of time.

My mom loves cats just as much as she loves dogs! She actually has SEVEN cats! But I don’t mind. I just ignore them and pay them no attention. In fact, two of my cat siblings are blind, but I know better than to chase. I let them be and have their space.

Outside in the yard, I get the zoomies and love to run and wrestle with other dogs! But in the house I am pretty chill. I do need to burn off some energy daily outside so I would appreciate some walks or playtime in the back yard.    Im not a chewer and am now potty and crate trained. My foster mom says I am the best dog and deserve the best home. Could that be you?

You can apply to adopt me here: https://www.pawfectmatch.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=20522453

Note: While Daphne is great with almost everyone, she doesn't seem to like goats!  We suggest a home where her and goats will not hang out together

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

♥ The first step is to fill out our adoption application on our website at www.pawfectmatch.org under Adoption Information.

♥ Once we receive your application, the second step will be for our volunteers to check your vet reference and talk with your personal references.

♥ The third step, if your application is approved, is for our volunteers to contact you about scheduling a home check. This is not to see what kind of house you live in or how clean or dirty it is. It is simply to see if the yard size, fencing, etc is compatible with your dog of interest. It also allows other animals in your household as well as children to meet your potential new dog to see if everyone will get along and to make sure this is truly a "pawfect" match!

♥ After all three of these steps are completed, the final step is to sign the adoption contract and make the adoption donation fee of $300.00. This may seem high, but it is actually a bargain! Your new pet will be up to date on the necessary vaccinations required by the age of the dog at time of adoption, spayed or neutered, on heartworm preventative and flea and tick meds, micro-chipped, groomed, and well on his or her way with basic obedience and house training. All of our dogs will be adopted out with a collar and leash, and a PMR tag.

♥ NOTE - If you have "spam protection" turned on for your email account, please set a white filter to allow emails from pawfectmatch@gmail.com to pass. We will NOT respond to spam protection response emails.

More about this rescue

We are an all volunteer rescue organization devoted to saving dogs from shelters, puppy mills, abusive situations and abondonment in North Carolina. Our members foster, transport and help the rescue efforts with their individual skills, experience, knowledge and expertise, and most importantly, their love of dogs.

At Pawfect Match Rescue we believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance regardless of their breed or age.

We take a different approach to rescue. We don’t try to save the masses; we just save ONE at a time and make them the best dog they can be by the time they find their forever homes.

By that we mean that we take them into our homes where they live amongst us and our pets and are treated as one of the family, not as a foster dog. We accomplish this by limiting our fosters to one or two per household.

Besides the basics of crate training and house training, we teach them basic obedience, we groom them, feed them a high quality dog food, and last but not least, we shower them with LOVE and attention that hopefully teaches them to trust again and realize that life really IS good..

We’ll never be able to save them all, no matter how many we try to pull and foster. So we believe that the one at a time approach with the extra TLC allows us to really KNOW the dogs and be able to match them more precisely with their new families.

This ends up being a win- win situation for all involved.

Pawfect Match is all volunteer and relys soley on adoption donation fees and public support. Most times our adoption donations do not cover our medical expenses.
