My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Akira, the sweetest and silliest Great Pyrenees girl you’ll ever have the pleasure of knowing! Born in November 2020, this playful lady is a dog park enthusiast who loves to go on walks—whether it’s a quick jaunt or a more ambitious adventure, she’s always ready for a trek. Although she could be an only dog, Akira loves to play with both male and female dogs of any shape or size. At the dog park, she’s a master of gentle wrestling, somehow managing to play with much smaller dogs without ever using her full strength. With her gentle and curious nature, Akira is a hit with kids and the elderly alike, spreading joy wherever she goes. She adores visiting pet-friendly businesses and is known for greeting strangers like long-lost friends, refusing to move until she’s been showered with her share of pets. When she’s not out exploring, Akira’s idea of a perfect evening is snuggling up with you while you binge-watch your favorite shows. But beware: if you stop petting her, she’ll remind you she’s still there with a firm Pyr paw!  Crate-trained and house-trained, Akira is a good-natured companion who is easy to have around. This sweet and loving girl does have one quirk: cats are not on her list of favorite friends. But with her playful spirit and affectionate heart, Akira is sure to make a delightful addition to any dog-loving home. She would do well with a semi-active family, with or without older kids, and a securely fenced yard to run and play. And if you ever get close enough to boop noses, you’ll be rewarded with a wagging tail and a heart full of joy that’s sure to brighten your day!
