TY NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!
Name: Ty Best Guess for Breed: terrier/lab mix
Best Guess for Age: 2 years as of May 2024 SEX: male
Approximate Weight: 30 lbs
Gets Along With: other dogs. We have not seen Ty with kids or cats yet, but can find out if you have them in your home.
Currently Living at: Shelter. Ty is looking for a foster or forever home!
Special adoption considerations: Ty is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs. All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care. After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months.
We are happy to discuss this treatment and which phase of the study this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left!
Ty is Looking For: his new home in the DC area. He is looking for a family to give him lots of love and take him on long walks to the park to play with his friends. He's excited to go to obedience training and learn to be the very best boy, and have many years of love in his new home!
What My Foster Says About Me: Coming soon!
Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
