Iandamp;#39;m Murphy, and I just know that I can fill that role, so if you need me, you know where to find me. I do love to play with other dogs. Iandamp;#39;m still young and exuberant and full of energy, but Iandamp;#39;m doing so well in playgroups with other doggies here. I even adore the andamp;quot;pack walksandamp;quot; at Great Plains when volunteers and staff take dogs out on walks together to socialize and enjoy the weather together. andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;I came into Great Plains as a stray. I did have a microchip, but sadly, it was of no help. Be sure you humans keep those microchips up to date - it can help us out in an emergency situation. I was so nervous and unsure when I first arrived, and Iandamp;#39;m still working hard to come out of my shell and show off my wonderful personality. I love to be petted and getting lots of attention makes me so happy. I know andamp;quot;sitandamp;quot; and andamp;quot;pawandamp;quot;, and Iandamp;#39;m just a sweet guy who has lost his way in this world and needs a new buddy or a family to give me my confidence back. I may be shy, but Iandamp;#39;m absolutely adorable! Please come and meet me. Be ready to fall in love and take me home.andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;Your new bestest friend,andlt;br/andgt;Murphy

Please note that we operate by first come, first serve along with adoption approval. Wait times may vary depending on the time of week and day.
We are reserving Mondays and Tuesdays for appointments for members of the public who are immunocompromised or are still uncomfortable being in large crowds due to COVID-19.
If you have any questions about our adoptable pets, please call (913) 831-7722 or email adoptions@greatplainsspca.org. Our expert matchmakers look forward to finding you the perfect furry family member!
Adoption Requirements:
- Adopter must be 18 years of age or older.
- Adopters must complete a survey and present photo identification to meet any of our animals.
- For the safety and health of our animals, we do not ship pets.
- Pet adoption fees range from $60 to $350. Our adoption fees help to offset the cost of evaluation, housing, feeding and medical care for the thousands of animals needing our help. We do our best to keep our adoption prices reasonable while generating income to support our goal of caring for animals available for adoption until we can place them in a loving home. The adoption fee for each animal varies and is dependent on many factors including: age, size, behavior, medical condition, and public demand.
