My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jensen is a sweet and eager-to-please dog who is quickly becoming a part of the family. He's a fast learner, already mastering basic commands and potty training thanks to some helpful training videos! He loves playtime with his new buddy the resident dog, especially wrestling and tug-of-war.

Jensen has overcome his initial fear of cars and walks well on a leash, even on busy streets. He's not easily scared and enjoys exploring the outdoors (though keep an eye out for those tempting puddles!). He sleeps soundly through the night, doesn't mind his crate, and is content with a chew toy when left for short periods.

Ideal home: Jensen would thrive in an active home with a family who loves playtime and cuddles. He'd do well with another playful dog like Reggie, but can also be happy on his own.
Our best guess is that Jensen is a Heeler & terrier mix.
Jensen's adoption fee is $425 plus MN tax which covers his neuter, vaccinations appropriate at the time of adoption, microchip and any additional medical care he may have needed while in the rescue's care.
We are a foster based rescue, we do not house dogs at a facility. Age and breed are NLR's best guess as we often don't know who or what mom and dad are. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website www.northernlakesrescue.org

Go meet their pets

Northern Lakes Rescue is foster based so all dogs are being fostered by amazing volunteers across the state of MN. Because of this, we require all meet and greets to be scheduled after an application is submitted.

Our focus after you apply is to get you scheduled to meet the dog within 3 to 7 days.

More about this rescue

Our Vision is to be a voice for those who are voiceless. We hear them with our hearts and give them a voice. Looking into the eyes of a rescued animal will speak volumes; watching those eyes light up will have an everlasting impact on you and the rescued animals.

We aren’t a typical rescue as we don’t take in dogs and put them in kennels until they’re adopted. All dogs we rescue are placed in loving foster homes that teach them to be the best dog they can be.

Our journey doesn’t end with adoption, either. We are here for you to support you in integrating your new member into your home, cheer new triumphs, and help with struggles.
