Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Mango, the 8-year-old Maltese who's living proof that you can teach an old dog new tricks - like how to enjoy life outside a puppy mill! This pint-sized pooch (8 lbs) was once destined for doggy heaven, but was rescued and now she's strutting her stuff on the streets of Cincinnati, leash skills on point.
Mango's got more personality than a reality TV star. She's friendly, fearless with new faces (young and old), and has a knack for turning beds into her personal kingdom. Sure, she's not housebroken, but hey, who doesn't love a little excitement in their life?
This little lady might be a bit hesitant about being picked up, but once you scoop her up, she transforms into a living, breathing plush toy. Talk about a Maltese melt! Got a purse? She loves being precious cargo so she is easily accessible for admirers to pet her.
Mango's social calendar is always full, as she's a hit with other dogs. When it comes to food, she's got the palate of a four-star restaurant critic. Eggs? Yes. Cottage cheese? Absolutely. Kibble? Why not. Chicken? Of course. Treats? Sometimes. She's not picky; she's just discerning, like any sophisticated lady should be.
Currently fostered in Cincinnati, Mango is ready to trade in her puppy mill past for a future full of love, laughter, and maybe a few more housetraining lessons. After all, you can't expect a lady to be perfect!
Mango has a lot of making up to do so her ideal home would have another dog, fenced yard, and minimal alone time.
Mango is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $300.
To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt
All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

As part of our commitment to the health and well-being of all of our animals and to reduce pet overpopulation in our community, every pet is spayed or neutered prior to adoption.
We are committed to ensuring the safety of our animals for their entire lifetimes so that they will never suffer abuse, neglect or abandonment again.
