Lily Laguna is ready to gain her American citizenship!!!
Sweet baby Lily traveled to us earlier this week from Tulum, Mexico. She was lucky enough to have been saved from an underserved jungle community, Punta Laguna, by the amazing people at @helptulumdogs who have been doing outreach in the area for 8 years - providing vaccines, food, preventatives, sterilizations, etc. Lily was just a 3 month old puppy when they found her living with a family who already had 15 dogs!! Not long after Lily was saved she crashed in her rescuers arms - gums were completely pale white (last pic) and they weren’t sure she would survive. Those jungle parasites are brutal! After several months and lots of TLC, Lily Laguna is completely healed and ready to find her perfect forever family in Atlanta!
Just under a year old, Lily Laguna is new to city life but she’s adjusting fabulously! She’s looking for a home with at least one other dog and a fenced yard. With diseases being so widespread on the streets of Mexico, the dogs that have already been rescued stay within the garden walls of their foster home so leash walking isn’t a skill they are able to practice. Lily is super food motivated and eager to please though so we have no doubt she is going to pick up on all sorts of new skills in no time!
