Meet Simba, a young, friendly and curious canine resident at our shelter. He's a bold, energetic bundle of joy, always ready for a game of fetch (without bringing back the ball!) or a fun tugging session. His intelligence shines through in his quick learning and problem-solving skills. He has learned the sit, stay, come, no and shake commands. He is very food motivated and willing to learn more commands if you keep the treats coming. Simba is house trained and leash trained, making him a perfect companion for walks in the park or cozy evenings at home. He can be a bit noisy and excitable, often expressing his joy through playful barks, chewing, and jumping. Despite this, Simba's love for life and his playful spirit is infectious. Simba may submissive and playful with other dogs, showing his gentle side, but he is very vocal and reactive when seeing them in public. You will need to bring your dog to meet him to be sure they are compatible. He can be mouthy with children and tends to guard his food, which suggests a need for a patient and understanding owner. Even though he is friendly, submissive, and jumpy with them, he'll need to live with kids at least nine years old. He weighs 48 pounds and loves being petted - but not for long because he has other things he wants to do. His adaptability and charm make him a wonderful addition to any family. Adopt Simba and experience the unconditional love and companionship he has to offer. (tw 9/14/2024)
