Introducing Stripes, a gentle soul with a heart as warm as her beautiful tan and black coat. This sweet Boxer/Labrador mix weighs 58 pounds and is on a journey to gain a bit more, with lots of love and treats along the way. A recent mama, Stripes has all the nurturing qualities you'd dream of in a companion-timid yet incredibly sweet; she's a testament to the power of gentle reassurance. Stripes's demeanor is as soft as her gaze, making her the perfect addition to a calm, loving home that can provide the security and affection she deserves. She does well in the company of other dogs but is clearly a people dog, and focuses immediately on those around her and leans in for all she can get. She has medium energy level and the most irresistible of mugs around! Step into Stripes's life and watch as she beautifully blends into yours. If you're ready to earn her trust and love, submit your adoption request today-Stripes is waiting to paint a brighter future with you!
*Weekend Host feedback: "She wants to do anything to please her human. She's crate and potty trained. She loves to chase balls (getting her to bring them back is a work in progress) and play hide and seek".
Recent Weekend Host commented: "Stripes did great with our other 2 dogs. " "She seems housetrained. At least, she did not have any accidents. " "No real issues with her crate. We coaxed her in with treats. The first night she barked a bit, but then settled down." "Stripes can be pretty strong on the leash. She seems fairly food motivated and we were able to work on some of that this weekend. She got better on the leash during the walks around our house." "She rides well in the car. " " She took to me right away (the only female in the house), but was really slow to warm up to my husband and 2 teen boys. " "Her demeanor is puppy-ish without the destructive behavior. She loved chewing on nylabones, kongs (filled or not), playing fetch and even liked getting in the lake. " "Overall, Stripes is a big, slobbery love bug who thinks she should be a lap dog (lol)."

If you are interested in meeting one of our dogs, please complete an Adoption Application at our website: savinggracenc.org
Sending an Application does not commit you to an adoption, it simply provides us with background information on potential homes. Please review our Adoption Contract before sending an Application to ensure that you will be able to provide the requirements stated in the contract. The Contract must be signed at the time of adoption.
Saving Grace is a small, non-profit 501-C3 organization operated by volunteers only. Most of our animals come from rural animal control shelters where lack of space and resources limit their time and adoption possibilities. Thank you for choosing Saving Grace! We look forward to helping you find your new companion and family member.

More about this rescue
Located in central North Carolina and officially established in 2004, Saving Grace has placed over 15,000 dogs into homes since its inception. These dogs were from rural animal control facilities with little resources and who would otherwise not had the opportunity to receive necessary veterinary care and a chance at adoption. While we have grown significantly over the years and have been successful growing our numbers we still see many great dogs miss the opportunity of adoption.
We have a large variety of dogs varying in breed, size, shape, age and needs and would love to work with you to find you a great dog companion while providing a dog in need with a loving home. Our dogs are chosen based on temperament and socialization. We get some of the most charming, unique mix breeds as well as some striking purebreds. Our dogs come from rural, underserved areas and while they may have little experience as an indoor family member, they have the temperament and personality that is sure to bring much love and appreciation to their new home. Most have started their crate training while in our program. Veterinary care including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test, vaccinations, monthly preventatives are provided prior to each adoption. If you would like more information about adopting one of our dogs, please email savinggrace@savinggracenc.org
