My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Clyde is an absolutely fabulous little puppy who was rescued from BARC in Houston at the end of April, 2024, when he was only 2 weeks old. He and his sister Bonnie were the only 2 litter mates found with their mama, Tessa, who is a boxer mix and an absolute gem. All 3 are in a loving foster home in Arkansas, living with several other dogs and a cat. They spend their time rolling around together playing in the grass or on the carpet or on the couch or wherever they happen to be at any given moment, unless they're passed out cold from playing so much. They're getting loads of socialization and have zero fear people or other animals. They're a delightful young family of sweet, healthy, happy little doggies.

Tessa is about 50 pounds. We have zero clue what kind of dog the puppies' dad was, but they seem to be growing up to be pretty big.

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

People can submit an adoption application

2.

Interview

First we do reference checks, THEN we do a full 1 to 1.5 hr interview with the applicant

3.

Home Check

Home checks used to be done in person but lately we do a zoom walk through of the home, checking especially the backyard and crate set up

4.

Meet the Pet

If the dog is here in Canada they can do a meet and greet to finalize that they are in fact who they say they are and a good match

5.

Approve Application

we would send an email approving the adopter (or declining if they aren't approved)

6.

Sign Adoption Contract

We would send the adoption contract which they would fill out and send back.

7.

Pay Fee

They would transfer the adoption fee to cover transport costs and vetting of the dog. Then they would come pick up the dog from the foster.

Additional adoption info

No other additional information. Some of our dogs are adopted as soon as they come up on a "foster-to-adopt" trial period to ensure the perfect match.
