Jenna Is A Lovely 3 Year Old X Puppy Mill Mom. Jenna is now retired. She spent 2 -1/2 years of her life as a puppymill mom which means she did not have the same experiences that others dogs her age have had. In turn, she is more timid and shy. She has come along nicely in her foster home. She has learned how to relax and just be a dog with the aid of the family and their chill dog to lead the way. Jenna now jumps on the bed for attention and happily wags her little tail. That being said, she can be reactive to day to day noises like the sound of a potato chip bag being opened which can cause her to panic. Consequently, she will do best in a quiet dog savvy home home with a chill companion dog that is sensitive to her past,
Jenna came to us in late August and now months later, she has made remarkable progress, However, it's essential to understand that when Jenna transitions to her adoptive home, she may initially feel unsafe due to her shy nature. As Jenna has been gradually coming out of her shell she's was working on her potty skills. Her ideal home would be with someone who can provide frequent bathroom breaks every couple of hours especially in a new environment.
What's crucial is that Jenna needs a patient and caring owner who is willing to let her set her own pace. In just a couple of months in her new home, we believe Jenna will begin to feel safe and fully relax into the household routine. Jenna is expected to thrive in a home with a gentle, respectful dog and someone who is willing to spend a significant amount of time with her. This companionship will help her feel more secure as she continues to adjust to her new environment.
Jenna MUST also have a fenced-in and gated yard as her potty place for her safety, given her shyer disposition. It's worth noting that once Jenna does feel safe, she'll delight you with her charming poodle personality. She adores being pet, particularly on her head, and she'll happily sit next to you for hours, a testament to the affectionate and loving companion she's destined to become.
Jenna is 3 years old and fully vetted, She has been spayed, received age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and is heartworm negative, Subsequent vaccines are at the expense of her adopter Her adoption donation is $600.00. She is on the hunt for her own completely committed family, Dogs can live to be 20 years old so she wants to be sure her family is all in for better or for worse!

To adopt any animal from Rescue Tails we require a completed and verified adoption application. Once we can review the application, we can set up a meet and greet. We ask that all members of the household including pets are available for us and prospective pet to meet. Providing that goes well, we will set an appointment with you for a home visit. If all goes well we can proceed to the final step of finalizing the adoption.

Rescue Tails Animal Welfare is dedicated to rehoming pets from high kill shelters. We choose an animal one at a time and evaluate what issues caused the animal to end up in the shelter and address those issues. Most often we find behavioral issues and/or medical issues . We deal with whatever it is to the best of our ability and then place the pet up for adoption to a responsible pet guardian. It is our goal to prevent the pet from returning to the system again. We work with the pets and carefully match them to their forever homes.
