My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ZORRO`S ADOPTION FEE HAS BEEN WAIVED/SPONSORED

Zorro is an outgoing talkative social and demanding kitty. He can get overstimulated and give love bites, so he needs an ADULT ONLY CAT-SAVVY HOME with no other cats. He will tap at you when he wants attention. Zorro is a cat that enjoys petting on his head and shoulders only. Our petting instructions were ignored, he bit/scratched a customer (who rubbed his tummy) so Zorro got a 10-day quarantine (kitty jail) and now has a permanent bite record. He is a funny quirky guyand it is imperative that he doesn`t get another bite/scratch offense. PLEASE only experienced cat-savvy adopters should visit and consider adopting Zorro.

Zorro is also FIV+, so he needs to be an inside only cat. FIV is slow acting, cat-only virus, and cannot be transmissible to humans, dogs, or other species of animals. FIV is not spread casually – like in litter boxes, food and water bowls, or when snuggling and playing. Instead, FIV is spread through serious, deep penetrating bite wounds -- The type of bite wound that is seen most often in feral, intact tomcats -- or by blood transfusions. Cats with FIV can live very long, perfectly comfortable lives. Provide FIV+ cats with a good diet and annual veterinarian exam, and address any secondary health concerns as they arise.

**WALK IN SHELTER TO ADOPT Tuesday Noon-5pm, Wednesday 12-6pm, Thursday-Sunday Noon-5pm (Closed Mondays and Holidays). All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To help expedite the meet & greet process, please bring a hard copy of a completed adoption application found here https://animalcare.saccounty.gov/Documents/AdoptionApp_Cats.pdf and provide Animal ID numbers of the kitties you might be interested in meeting. Be sure to bring your ID with you too!
