My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lara has been through a lot. While we don’t know exactly what she endured before arriving at the shelter, we can see that it involved some physical trauma. Her little body shows signs of multiple injuries that are now healing! For that we are grateful! What ever happened, Lara has moved on and chooses joy! She is such a fun loving girl who can teach us a bit about forgiveness and moving forward! Want more lessons on life from Lara? Come meet her today!!

Came in as a stray on 5/23/24. Found near 5600 S Talman Chicago

Adoptions are walk-in 12-6 daily at 2741 S. Western Ave. Chicago, IL

Email visitcacc@cityofchicago.org for more information.

The building is open 12-7 daily and adoptions end one hour before closing. All visitors 18 and older must have a government issued ID.

All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision makers). We recommend and can arrange dog to dog meet and greets for your current dog to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter.

Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after time for decompression for the shelter dog.
