Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Bullet is a 2 year old German Shepherd that was surrendered to us after his owner suffered an injury and was unable to care for him anymore. Bullet is a typical shepherd- intelligent, loyal, and energetic. He is extremely treat motivated (he can sometimes be a bit rough taking treats, but he's an excellent catcher if you toss it!) and has learned all his commands quickly. He lives to chase a tennis ball- and trades them like a pro!- but once some of his energy is out is happy to sit next to you for a petting session. Bullet lived with other dogs in the home but seems to be choosy with his canine companions at the shelter- a meeting with any other dog in the home would be required before adoption. We feel Bullet would thrive in an active household with shepherd or guarding breed experience and children aged 16+. If you are interested in learning more about Bullet please call us at 516-869-6311 or email us at animalshelter@northhempsteadny.gov for more information.
*Reminder* We are currently facilitating adoptions through appointment only. If you arrive at the shelter without an appointment to meet a dog, we may not be able to assist you.
Please call the shelter (516-869-6311) during working hours (Mon. to Fri. 9AM-4PM; Sat. 10AM-4PM) for more information about this dog, the adoption process at the shelter, and to confirm availability. Please go to www.theshelterconnection.org for more information about and directions to the shelter.
