Scooter is a 19 lb, 3 yr old, Jack Russell mix - neutered and up to date on vaccines. Currently being fostered in Gainesville, FL. Very playful, loving, friendly and active! Crate and house trained. Good on a leash. He wants to please! Loves Big! Working on his treat grabbing. Having him sit before taking a treat and when getting his food bowl. He is learning quickly, very smart and responsive. He loves to fetch a ball or soft frisbee and will drop it at your feet for the next toss. Tug is a favorite game! Might be the world's best lizard chaser. Would do well with another playmate with similar activity level but has also done well with our 15 yr old terrier mix, who won't play with him at all :(
Scooter enjoys mental enrichment but can also nap for a few hours next to you on the couch or in your lap! Learning manners, responds well to No or Eh-Eh. He could make someone a great sport dog, or active companion!!

We require potential adopters to fill out an Adoption Application.When that is approved we can arrange for the prospective adopter to meet the dog they are interested in. We do require an adoption contract to be signed at time of adoption. We have a virtual home-check process (don't forget to submit photos of the exterior of your home!) Adoption fees range depending on the age of the dog. We do have dogs located at qualified fosters throughout the state and also out of state.

We are a small, foster-based rescue organization located in Southwest Florida. Being small helps us give more one-on-one attention to individual dogs and their needs. Rescued dogs are kept in our homes and treated as our own. Herding dogs are unique. They are highly intelligent and require much of the owner’s attention. The dogs are evaluated, when they come into the rescue, for any temperament and health issues. Then they are given basic obedience, socialization and rehabilitation as it is necessary.
It is our sole purpose to find forever homes for these loving, wonderful dogs that have been discarded through no fault of their own. All adopted dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, micro-chipped, and on flea and heartworm preventative.
