If you are looking for a sweet, happy and friendly pet, that gets along with other dogs, is house trained and has a medium energy level, meet Sadie! Sadie lost her place when her person left and didn't return. The person keeping her and her friend, Diamond, was no longer able to care for them. They both came to rescue for care and we have spent a month or so learning about her traits and she is ready for a wonderful forever home. Sadie is a really good girl and we are hopeful that we can get her in a a home that will see all her awesome qualities and help her shine.
Sadie is active and will do well on walks, on care rides and in most social situations. We haven't seen her in contact with kids yet and we know she's been exposed to cats but we aren't sure how she'll be in the long term with them, as yet.
Sadie is a nine pound dog, and she's an adult 9 y/o. She is spayed and had a dental cleaning about 2 months ago. She is current on vaccines, microchhipped and on heartworm and flea prevention.

Additional adoption info
**If you are unable to pay the adoption fee ($250 and up), we are unable to place a dog in your care. Being unable to meet the financial obligations of pet care (recurrent or emergent) is one of many reasons why so many of these pets end up in rescue. It's not lack of love.**
We require an adoption application, and then we will check references. We also check with vets. If the person is not LOCAL then we will partner with a local animal control to complete a home visit.
There are adoption fees associated with the costs of veterinary care of the pet. We require an adoption contract to be signed to finalize the adoption process and we have an agreement that all our pets are to be Chihuahua Rescue Indiana Inc. pets for LIFE. In other words, in the event that they can not stay in their adoptive home, they are not to be surrendered to another individual or rescue.

More about this rescue
Chihuahua Rescue Indiana Inc. is a non profit, all volunteer rescue working with Chihuahuas and Chihuahua mixes. The pets are housed in individual volunteer foster homes, not kennels or shelters until they are adopted permanently. We get to know our animals and therefore can tell the potential adopter what the traits of the animal are and what home would be the best for the pet. We are dedicated to the adoption, education, rescue and transportation of the Chihuahua breed. We believe that every Chihuahua deserves a loving home.
