My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello! My name is Snowball and I am a handsome and super-sweet male Bichon Frise mix. I am one of the most mellow guys you will ever meet. My favorite place will be on your lap or cuddled up next to you on a chair or couch. I am happy to snuggle with you in bed, or I will even lie on the floor next to you, if that's the only option. I simply do not want to be away from you. I will follow you everywhere, because I need you and love you. There's a reason for that... You see, my family of many years decided they did not want me anymore, and they left me at a shelter. I didn't do anything wrong. I was the same dog I always was! I was devastated, so on that day I promised myself that, if I ever had the good fortune to find my forever family, I would never let them out of my sight! My foster Mom finds this very endearing. A little about me: I never bark. I'm not even sure I can! I might make a pathetic little "eeeee" sound if you leave me and I can't see you, but never a loud commotion. I really don'tlike to be alone, so I need someone who is home most of the time and can provide lots of physical contact and love. If you do go out and can take me with you, I'm a great car companion and very well behaved in public. I like attention from all kinds of people, so I would be okay with a kind pet sitter, too, as a last resort if you must leave me alone for a longer period of time. I love to take a few short walks a day, and I like all the other pups I meet along the way. I get along great with the pups who live in my foster home, too. I'm just a mellow guy. And handsome! My unique eyes and adorable pink nose make me special, and my perfect bichon hair stays fluffy when it's long and rarely gets matted! (For some reason, my tail is docked, but I can't remember why!) I am housebroken, but you need to be sure to take me outside several times a day so I can go. I don't understand doggie doors, and a senior can only hold it so long. I am loved and well-cared for with my foster family but I am looking for my forever home. If you have room in your heart and home for me, please complete an adoption application. https://bichonrescueoc.org/adoption-application Please visit our website www.bichonrescueoc.org to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs.

More about this rescue

Bichon Rescue of Orange County (BROC) was organized to address the ever increasing number of senior bichons and other small breeds that are being surrendered by their owners and dropped off at local shelters in Orange County. Through the Seniors for Seniors Program we are committed to cultivating our senior citizens both as volunteer fosters and as adopters. The Seniors for Seniors Program will encourage qualified Senior adopters to adopt senior pups.
We have over fifteen years of combined history in rescue and a team of dedicated volunteers, committed to our Mission.
