Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Cookie!
This sweet girl is approximately 9 years old and 8.5 lbs. Cookie found herself surrendered to CRT after her owner was unable to continue living in a local hotel. Cookie came in with her older canine companion, Duchess, but they are not bonded and will be adopted to separate homes. Cookie is an older gal who deserves to live our her golden years in the lap of luxury.
Cookie LOVES people, and does pretty well with other dogs! That being said, Cookie needs to be the alpha dog in the home! Even better if you just have male dogs in your home, Cookie likes to be the head lady in charge! She’s currently in a foster home with 3 other dogs and 2 cats. She quickly established that she is not in fact in charge, even though she really would like to be. She does well with other dogs, but tries to dominate the other females in the house. Once she realizes things can in fact be peaceful and she doesn’t have to boss everyone around or fight for attention, she gets along great with everyone!
One of her favorite things to do is take a nap in her bed inside her crate. She loves belly rubs and insists you never stop! She is very food motivated - the few teeth she has left do not slow her down! She can be a bit cantankerous when first meeting you, and is a little more outgoing toward new females vs males, but at the end of the day, she is actually quite the little love monster. She’s a very typical chi and really wants her forever person.
Cookie walks fine on a leash, is crate trained, and she is potty trained. She rides well in a car. Cookie also loves to sunbathe and really enjoys the backyard.
Cookie is spayed, UTD on vaccines, HW Negative, and on HW Preventative.
Her adoption donation is $300.00.
If you are interested in the above dog, please do not email us and tell us that you are interested, but submit an adoption application. The link for the application is below.
To submit an application go here……chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/
An application must be submitted and approved before a meet-n-greet can be scheduled.
Your current dogs/cats must be spayed or neutered unless a veterinarian has determined that your current pet(s) should not be fixed due to medical reasons. They must also be up-to-date on shots and on HW preventative.
Reference checks and a home visit are required so our southeast dogs can only be adopted in NC/SC, VA, TN, AL, MD and GA. She may also be transported to adoptees in our midwest region (OH, KY, IL, MI, WI, MN).
