Indira has come into her own during her time in foster care. She has learned she can trust humans and will seek you out for pets or to sit nearby. She loves to play with toys, absolutely loves other cats, and can happily spend the day watching CatTV. She will do extremely well in a home with another friendly cat (or 2).
Indira has a sweet meow and when excited will run around with her tongue slightly out. She had a previous hind limb fracture that healed incorrectly and at her most recent vet visit they decided against amputating as she continues to use the leg without pain.
Indira’s future adopters will need to monitor her in her senior years for signs of pain or arthritis which can be managed with medication.
Indira has tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). FIV+ cats can live long happy lives with a good diet, low stress, indoor homes, loving families, and annual vet check-ins. They don't require medication and can live in a home with other non-FIV+ cats, as the virus is only passed to other cats by blood (i.e. deep bite marks) and can't be passed to dogs or humans. Please don't judge them based on a blood test! She can have some chronic herpes virus flare ups which usually displays as squinting her eyes, but she recovers after a few days without any intervention. Providing a daily probiotic will help reduce flareups.
While Indira has grown to trust humans, she is still wary of being picked up. She prefers to be pet with other cats around and will stretch out and roll around on her back when comfortable.
Indira will be a great addition to a home that is willing to be patient and allow her to continue to gain trust. Just give her you love, patience and understanding as she adjusts to her new home.

Additional adoption info
Adoption fee is $200 per adult cat, and $250 for kittens (under 8 months old).
This ensures that the cats that come into our care receive the attention they need, are spayed or neutered, and receive a rabies vaccination at the appropriate age. For City of Toronto residents, the adoption fee includes a mandatory City of Toronto cat license that is valid for one year. As you can imagine, these fees only begin to cover our costs; donations and ongoing fundraising efforts carry us the rest of the way!
Note:
-Senior cats (8 years or older) have an adoption fee of the adopter's choice, vs. our standard adult adoption fee of $200.
-Our adoption fee for an adult bonded pair (8 months or older) is $150 per cat vs. $200 per cat. Thanks for giving two loving friends a home together!
