My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

From Foster:

De Niro is wonderful :3

Basics:
Housetrained—yes!
Dogs—still up in the air…he doesn’t get along well with my dog, but she has territorial/guarding issues. He may do well with smaller dogs, unsure.
Cats—yes! He is sweet and indifferent toward both my cat and the neighborhood ferals, not even barking at them beyond the fence
Kids—NA
He is wonderful on leash, he loves to walk and sniff and has a lot of energy for walking. He gets the zoomies when he knows we’re heading back to the house!!
He will tolerate a crate but doesn’t like to be in there for long.
He is a champion of GO ON YOUR SPOT, he will STAY and LIE DOWN (with some encouragement), and we are working on SIT!

Characteristics:
He takes a bit to warm up to cuddles, but once he feels comfortable he is so sweet and lovey. He loves belly rubs and once got so excited for them that he fell off the couch!! He’s a total goof in the mornings, gets so excited to say good morning that he does a somersault!
Play—so far he’s not much for playing, he will dash around the yard but shows no interest in toys.
He is quite the couch potato but is always excited for a morning walk, and he loves to ride in the car and go new places! I’m sure he would be happy to come along on adventures too!
De Niro is a big softy who just wants to love and be loved. He is always ready to flop over for a belly rub and his little tail starts going as soon as I wake up in the morning.
He is SUPER food motivated and will wait patiently by the kitchen as soon as he hears the sound of cooking!
He is very smart about boundaries and will respect rules regarding space! He’s very well mannered and doesn’t beg or snatch food even though it’s tempting. He is super gentle taking treats!
My favorite physical characteristic is the soft white fur on his chest!! It’s so soft and downy and he loves to get pet there!
De Niro would love a home where he can be included in everything. I think he would make a wonderful family dog as he is sweet and gentle and mild mannered, but he knows how to get his energy up too! He’s happy to stay home while his people are at work but he loves some quality cuddles and treats and training time too.
