Hi! My name is King. I'm a very handsome boy looking for a new home! I came to Marine Humane because my first family could no longer keep me due to a housing situation.
I am 7 years old, and a good deal trained. I know how to sit, stay, lie down, and shake. Even though I love to eat, I do not hoard food. I will sit patiently while you prepare my food and my foster brother and I eat close to each other. I am crate trained and will let you know with gentle whines when I need to go potty.
I have only had one family since I was a pup. My first family were of the older human age and could only take me on walks, but no parks. I did meet other dogs during walks, but it was only nose-to-nose, no play time. Because I have had little interaction with other dogs I am still learning how to socialize.
My foster brother is showing me how to respect dog boundaries. I still do not totally understand boundaries and that can be rough on other animals that like their space or are smaller than me. My foster father has to gently introduce me to new foods but once I know it is food I will eat anything. I recently discovered peanut butter and I am still learning how to get treats from a kong toy. Right now, everything seems new to me, and I get very excited. But once I get familiar, I like to just lie down and relax.
Because a lot of things are still new, I don't always know how to react. I get very excited and this can be difficult for some. I know I look big and can be too rough sometimes, but I just want to show love. I know with patience and care I will be the best dog for you. ***ADOPTION FEE PAID*** Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 61.8 Age: 6yrs 4mths 0wks
(I'm being fostered in the East Bay)
