My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Slim Shady was brought in by his previous owner on May 28, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Slim Shady, a sweet guy with plenty of love to give - he loves to be pet and will lean into you for some snuggles! Active and adventurous, he's the perfect outdoor adventure buddy! Slim is one smart cookie, having mastered "sit" and "shake". He also loves to play a game of fetch (yes, he brings the ball back) and walks like a dream on leash! Slim Shady's ideal home will offer him plenty of time with his family and the house to himself as the only pet. If you are a homebody looking for a solo, loyal companion, Slim Shady may be the perfect fit for you! Head to our Oceanside Campus to meet him and find out if it's a match.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
