My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Rayne. My foster mom and dad say I am the sweetest, most loyal dog you will ever meet. I just turned 1 year old on May 23rd, and I would absolutely love for a family to call my own for my birthday present.

My favorite activities include going for daily walks, playing ball, wrestling with my doggie brothers and snuggling in mom’s bed. I would thrive in a household with another young dog like me since I am very energetic and love playing constantly. I’ve never been around cats or other farm animals (whatever those are). I would love to have a big fenced-in yard to run around in.

Loud noises like motorcycles or sirens scare me and I like to run and hide. I’m pretty good about running back to my foster mom and dad when they call me though. They always tell me what a good boy I am and I get lots of pets and scratchies when I do. That makes me very happy.

I used to live with a family that gave me lots of love but they couldn’t keep me or my brother when they lost their job. I trust people because of this and love to show everyone lots of affection. When out and about, I like to try and say hi to everyone and I smile at them with the biggest smile on my face. Foster mom says I am a “social butterfly.” (She’s silly because I can’t fly.) She also says I am a big Velcro dog. I’m not exactly sure what that means either, but I just LOVE to be near my humans, especially when they give me belly rubs and scratchies.

I like walking on my leash, but I do tend to walk side to side a lot. Foster mom says my new family needs to continue to work with me on leash walking so I can be a really good boy on walks. I’m learning my basic commands (sit, stay, lay down and leave it) and need my new family to help me get better at those. Sometimes I jump up on my humans (I TRY to remember but I just get SO excited).

I think having my own kids to play with would be great, but they should be older (12+ years). (Foster mom is afraid I would knock smaller children down and I definitely don’t want to hurt anyone.)

Rayne is approximately 43 lbs but may gain another few pounds as he matures. He is neutered, microchipped, UTD on vaccines, housebroken, crate trained, and on HW/flea prevention.

He is currently being fostered in Traverse City, MI. There is an additional $20 fee to transfer his microchip to his new owners. All adoption fees go to help rescue other dogs like Rayne.
