My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Brooks, the charming chatty cat with a heart of gold and a penchant for conversation! This handsome male feline is as sweet as they come, with a personality that shines as brightly as his beautiful eyes.

Brooks is not just your average feline companion; he's a delightful chatterbox who loves to engage in lively conversations with his human friends. Whether it's sharing stories about his day or simply expressing his affection with a series of cheerful meows, Brooks is always eager to make his presence known.

In addition to his lovable personality, Brooks comes with a special dietary requirement-he needs an allergy-specific diet to keep him healthy and happy. But fear not! With the right care and attention, managing Brooks' diet is a small price to pay for the joy and companionship he brings.

Despite his dietary needs, Brooks is a low-maintenance cat who thrives on love and attention. If you're looking for a furry friend who will keep you company with both his charming personality and his lively conversations, then Brooks is the perfect match for you. Come meet Brooks today and discover the joy of welcoming this sweet chatty cat into your home!

The Chilliwack Branch is an Animal Protection Centre for pets who have been rescued from abusive or neglectful homes. The Centre is open to the public by appointment only due to the security issues associated with housing animals awaiting the outcome of legal proceedings. We will accept surrendered animals by appointment only, and we are open for adoptions on special occasions.

More about this shelter

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
