Rosie is a gorgeous, golden-eyed, feisty and playful, ten-month-old, eight-pound female tortoiseshell kitten looking for a loving guardian.
Rosie hitched a ride in a parked car. When the owner of the car pulled into his garage, out popped Rosie. She had burns to her face and shoulder from the heat of the vehicle.
That was back in March. She is now completely healed physically, but she still tends to be fearful and protective.
She is extremely smart and playful with all toys. She loves interactive food games and puzzles, and flies through the air for a wand toy with a feather.
She has been absolutely fine with small and gentle dogs in her foster home, but she appears to be afraid of other cats. We’re still trying for slow and positive interactions.
She is now very healthy, spayed, dewormed, vaccinated for distemper and rabies, virus tested negative for FIV/Felv, dewormed, and microchipped. She has started to take fluoxetine (generic Prozac) to see if it calms her down. She sometimes attacks hands and feet.
She’s looking for a patient feline-lover to take her into their heart and home.
To meet and possibly adopt Rosie, please fill out an adoption application https://friendsofpetraits.com/cat-adoption-application/
After the application is complete, please contact friendsofpetraits@gmail.com to schedule an appointment to meet her.
Her adoption fee of $150 benefits the Friends of Petraits Rescue. She is currently being fostered in the Edgewater neighborhood of Chicago.
