My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Morticia’s mamma transferred to us from Orange County Animal Services in September of last year. As Hurricane Ian was approaching, OCAS reached out to inform us that they had 7 rabbits at their facility who needed immediate placement. Foster homes were found for all 7, and Morticia and her siblings were born just two days before Hurricane Ian arrived in Orlando! Morticia is the smallest of her siblings, but more than makes up for her smaller stature with personality and pizzazz.

Despite her somber name and dark and stormy beginnings, Morticia has a happy and sunny disposition. She has beautiful shiny black fur with white markings, and big brown eyes. She is a little shy at first in new surroundings, but after a while will warm up and display her sweet nature. Morticia enjoys playing with her toys and looking out the window - perhaps watching for future meteorologic disturbances. Her favorite foods are cilantro, Romaine lettuce and crunchy Oxbow treats. This little girl is seeking a forever home where she will be loved and sheltered.

We adopt to indoor homes only! If you are interested in adopting a bunny from Orlando Rabbit Care and Adoptions or would like more information on rabbit care, please visit our website at: http://www.orlandorabbit.org. The first step to our adoption process is to complete an adoption application, which can be found here: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/55856/generic . Then one of our volunteers will reach out to you via email to schedule a time to speak with you. If you don’t see the email in a day or two, please check your spam folder!

Our Adoption Fee/Donation for a single rabbit is $100, a pair is $170, and a triple is $200. This helps to offset the cost of having the rabbits altered, microchipped and vaccinated, as well as any medical care that may have been required.

Additional adoption info

For those that want to bond a new rabbit with an existing rabbit, we conduct bonding events where the home rabbit can meet several rabbits to find a potential match. We work with the adopting family to help ensure that the rabbits bond. We take back the adoptive rabbit if there is not a match.

Our adoption agreement specifies that we will take any adopted rabbit back, should the home situation change in the future.

Go meet their pets

We are a foster-based rescue where our available animals are kept in private homes.

You can see our rabbits online, then make an appointment to meet the rabbit(s) you select.

From time-to-time, we conduct adoption events where you can meet multiple rabbits. Because of RHDV2, these events have been paused.

More about this rescue

We are a rescue and educational group dedicated to the health, care and enjoyment of house rabbits. We believe that pet rabbits are family members and should be housed indoors, should be fed a healthy diet, should be spayed or neutered, and should receive quality medical care. Our organization strives to provide bunny parents with information to help them care for their rabbit.
