Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION BEFORE APPLYING!
Jim is too cute for words! He is still looking for his forever home in PA, DE, MD, VA, or DC. Jim is approximately 14 months old and 16 lbs. He is housetrained and crate trained. He was just groomed and vetted.
He is a very sweet boy who loves attention, being petted, and being with his person. He is very active as all puppies are. He is not a barker (yet). He loves playing with toys. Jim enjoys 1-2 walks a day and romping in his fenced yard. He gets along with children.
Jim needs an ALL FEMALE home. He growls at men. He does not adjust over time with patience. We have tested him in two foster homes. We feel this is due to his fear of the puppy mill breeder he came from.
An adopter will be required to take Jim through dog obedience training.
If you would like to be considered to adopt Jim, you must first apply. Please contact schnauzerrescue@outlook.com for our rescue's adoption application. Please be sure to keep a watch on your Spam and Junk folders if you don't see a response in your email inbox. If you've already applied, please contact schnauzerrescue@outlook.com to be added to the list of those being considered.
Rescue Schnauzers usually weigh between 15-25 pounds, they are up to date on shots, heartworm/Lyme tested and spayed/neutered prior to placement. We make reasonable efforts to evaluate the health and temperament of each dog, however we cannot make any guarantees.
We are not a shelter and do not have a central facility to visit our rescue schnauzers. All dogs are kept in foster homes located throughout the area we cover. PLEASE NOTE: We rescue schnauzers in Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C., and Pennsylvania. We can only accept applications from these areas. For a rescue contact in other areas, please go to our website http://www.schnauzerrescue.net and click on Rescue Links. We have a need for volunteers in Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C., Pennsylvania, and Delaware.
Our website features lots of great information about the rescue process, book reviews and training tips. You can donate to Jim's care at http://schnauzerrescue.net/Donate.htm via PayPal or check. All donations go to the veterinary fund and are tax deductible as a charitable contribution. Thanks for your support!
