My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sometimes the shelter can be a little scary for a sensitive gentleman like Barnaby. He has been a bit reserved as he tries to take in all of the sights and sounds of an environment that can be overwhelming. So, it might take him a minute to warm up, but he definitely would like to make your acquaintance. The right fit for him would be a special human who knows how to take it slow, and wine and dine this reserved doggy to win his affection.

Barnaby was appropriate around other dogs when we tried him in playgroups, but his best match would be another dog with a similar laidback personality. Since he was a bit overwhelmed by some of the overzealous players, a playmate with calmer temperament would work well with this wonderful boy.

If you know about the breed, cattle dogs are rather bright, so finding a task to engage his enviable smarts and herding nature would be a good start in bonding with Barnaby!

If you're interested in learning more about him, please reach out to our volunteer matchmakers at wcac.matchmaker@gmail.com with the subject line "Barnaby 250301".

He is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and will be neutered prior to going home. If you have dogs or cats, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times.
