Hi, my name is technically Jason but I didn’t respond to that name so my foster family opted to call me Fuji instead. I think it’s because I’m so sweet like a Fuji apple. I am a charming 3-year-old brindle American Pit Bull Terrier, overflowing with love and tenderness. I lean in for affection and I love being rubbed. For me, the best seat in the house will always be your lap.
I am super silly and clumsy, but my foster folks say that’s what makes me so charming! I am treat motivated, so learning commands and tricks isn’t too hard. I became potty trained, learned sit, stay/wait, come, and to only jump on the couch when invited in two weeks. I’ve almost learned lay down and high-five as well. I am crate trained and do well when left home alone.
I love meeting and saying hi to other dogs. I have lived with another dog and we quickly became good friends. I play very well and have gotten along with all the dogs I have met. Fetch and chew toys will have me entertained for hours! I’m a playful boy who likes activity, but after a long day taking a nap in your lap is all I want to do.
Jason also went on a doggie day out adventure with a volunteer on 8/31! Here is what they had to say!
`Jason is friendly, assertive not shy, loves people and wanted to play with every dog we saw. he does not react to bicycles or mopeds when on busy walking trails but definitely chases lizards if they catch his eye. Jason is a cuddle bug and goes right for your lap when you sit down. He enjoys loves, pets and belly rubs and is extra affectionate when he gets to know you even just after a few hours. He’s a bit of a nibble kisser, but took good feedback and listened when instructed to be gentle. He’s a very good boy who loves the outdoors. he was slightly apprehensive around water at first, but was showing more interest and went in more throughout the day. We took Jason to Lake Natoma for the afternoon on the busy bike and dog trail. He did well around people, bikes, boats, and even other dogs. He slightly pulls when walks, but learns quickly. We sat on the beach for an hour or more, and he explored, played in the water and relaxed on the blanket. He was happy to be with the family, it will be difficult to take him back to the shelter. He’s a good boy and hope you find a good home`
