My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Orion is a young adult that arrived to the shelter as a stray dog. We located his owner, but they did not reclaim him, so now he's available to adopt to someone who will keep him forever! Orion has met other dogs at the shelter, but has had difficulty making friends because he is very dominant and bossy, and he doesn't have interest in chasing or wrestling. Orion arrived to the shelter with fly bites on his ears and heartworm positive, so we believe he was an outside-only backyard dog. This may explain why he has a nonchalant personality. He's independent like a cat. Come meet our interesting boy Orion!

The major objectives of animal services are to protect the public from diseases (such as rabies) that can be transmitted from animals to humans, to reduce the number of traffic emergencies caused by uncontrolled animals, to abate nuisances and annoyance to citizens caused by animals, to reunite pets with owners, to promote the adoption of unwanted or stray animals housed at the city’s animal shelter and to operate the city’s animal shelter in a humane and sanitary manner.
