My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello All...My name is Primrose but you can call me Prim or Rosie. More than likely, I won't come to either though because in my previous life I was a puppy mill Momma. MVPC came to my rescue and made me an honorary Pit Bull back in March when I was being retired. I am said to be a Havanese.

The last few months I have been working on all kinds of things with my foster family - 2 leggers and 4! I am pretty okay with the 4 legged ones if they take things slow. I need a little while to warm up. I have improved a lot with certain people but still flinch when touched. I am learning that leashes are okay and not a torture device. I have been groomed and my fluffy hair is growing back. I am a work in progress and am improving daily.

I have to tell you that I do have a condition called Vestibular Syndrome (this affects my balance). When I got to my foster family I was a mess. It was hard to figure out what was going on but we've got it under control now and I don't walk funky anymore! I take 1/2 of a Meclizine (non drowsy Dramamine) twice a day. It's not expensive at all!

As a result of my past, I am super shy but I would love a confident dog to learn the ropes from. I think one day I would love to play and get all the lovins like the other dogs.

PLEASE understand - I need to go to a home that understands and has experience with puppy mill dogs - no exceptions. I also need a patient family as it may take a while before I warm up to the idea of my new home and I likely will never quite be a "normal" pup.

ADOPTION FEE: $250 (All MVPC dogs are heartworm-tested and on prevention, completely vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, crate-trained and house-trained)

ADOPTER: Dog experience - MUST HAVE PUPPYMILL EXPERIENCE - NO EXCEPTIONS!

I AM READY TO GO HOME!! If you are approved to be my new family, a hold fee of $100 is required and will be applied to the full adoption fee of $250 when MVPC comes to visit your house with me!

PLEASE NOTE: We are volunteer based and a home visit is required; we have a two-hour adoption radius from Kettering, OH for our adult dogs and 75 miles for our puppies. Exceptions for our ADULT dogs only, though rare, may be made on a case-by-case basis but we must be able to do a home visit. Thank you for your understanding!
