My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi I'm Luna! I am 4 years & 4 months old and weigh 50 lbs. Depending on the picture and lighting, I look like a lab mix, weimareiner or even a labraseal! Youll just love taking pics of me while I pose nicely.

I got to stay with a nice foster family while the Canine Collective kennels were getting painted, and I had a great time. My foster mom took me for a car ride to her office and I jumped right in like a pro! She said I was a pretty chill gal so likely I just needed some quiet rest! I went for walkies and started pulling I was so excited, but my foster family knew how to handle that. Just stop and call me back. Simple. I met an older dog on the walk and we did great. I must admit I dont like strangers reaching out to pet me without my consent. I prefer to get to know people first to figure out if they are ok. I did have a foster canine bro and Im fine as long as he stays away from my food bowl. We should be fed separately.

My perfect day would be to run in a big field (or backyard), rolling in the grass, having constant belly rubs, going for another car ride (love those!!), then cuddle with my peeps on the couch. I sleep like a dream in my crate every night.

I know the right family is out there for me, ready to embrace all my quirks and give me the best life a pup could ask for! If there is another dog in the household, please bring them to meet me to exchange mutual sniffs.

Our adoption process takes several steps and cannot be completed in one day. All of our volunteers work full time and assist the rescue in their spare time. Please allow 2-3 business days for a response.

* Applicants must be willing to make a ten plus year commitment to their new family member.

* Applicants must commit to daily exercise, walks, trips to the dog park or play in the back yard. A well exercised dog is a happy well behaved dog!

* Applicants living in a rental property must provide proof of pet policy from landlord.

* Applicants must provide a veterinarian reference and if there are existing dogs in the household. All pets must be spayed/neutered and current on all shots and heartworm medication.

*Please allow at least a 7-14 day adjustment period for your new dog. Rescue dogs go thru a lot of changes and need a few days to get used to their new surroundings and adjust. Adopting a dog should be a serious commitment, so please be willing to work out the kinks. Our dogs aren't perfect but with proper training and guidance they make awesome, loving pets.

*Our adoption fees vary based on the age and medical needs of the dogs.

We are a private, nonprofit, all breed, no-kill dog rescue.
