My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet adoptable Karina! She is fostered in the lower mainland, ready for meet-and- greets!

Karina is a young Labrador Retriever/Shepherd mix. She is 1.5 years old and weighs approx 45 lbs, fully grown.

Karina arrived into our care on June 14th and is being fostered in Vancouver. She was rescued from the streets of Guadalajara and stayed at a rescue shelter where she awaited adoption. Sadly, her size and colouring worked against her in the search for a family because black dogs are often overlooked in favour of lighter coloured dogs.

Despite her past struggles living on the streets of Mexico, Karina is a sweetheart through and through. Karina has kind, gentle nature  and a deeply loving heart. All she wants is to feel safe and cared for. Karina is shy initially with new people, needing time to make sure she's in safe hands. But once she gets to know you, her beautiful personality shines.

Karina gets along with adults, kids, and dogs of all sizes. At her current foster home, she lives with many other doggies and very much enjoys their company. She would thrive with a canine sibling in her future home. Karina also enjoys going to doggy daycare when her fosters are away for the day. She runs and plays the day away with her furry pals!

In terms of her energy level, Karina is a fun-loving girl who looks forward to her walks, running around the dog park, and playing fetch. She's incredibly good at catching the ball when you throw it!

Karina's foster mom describes her as an awesome dog with a heart of gold. Although shy and cautious initially, Karina has settled wonderfully in her new surroundings. She has become "one of the pack" with the resident dogs and loves to runs and play with her pals. Karina's foster mom agrees that she would be a perfect second or third dog for a family because she loves the company of fur siblings.

Karina is more than ready for her FURever family. She's dreaming of a home to call her own, where she will be surrounded by love and affection for the rest of her life. If you're interested in adopting Karina, meet-and-greets can be arranged!
