My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sasha is looking for their forever home!

WHAT MY FOSTER SAYS: Meet Sasha, a charming 3-year-old, 51lb dog who found herself at the shelter's doorstep when her owner could no longer provide for her. Sasha's journey here began with shyness, but oh, how she's blossomed into the most loving and affectionate companion!

She's a favorite among shelter staff and volunteers, stealing hearts with her playful nature and unwavering loyalty.

Sasha's talents are as abundant as her love. She's obedient and responsive, boasting an impressive repertoire of commands including sit, lay down, cage, and retrieve. She's currently learning how to redirect her barking energy to more constructive actions like sitting or lying down. Her enthusiasm for fetch knows no bounds; Sasha's incredible speed and boundless energy make her the perfect playmate for an endless game of fetch. And what's even more endearing? She'll joyfully return the ball to you every time! Besides fetch, Sasha loves to explore on long walks. Once all her energy has been expended, she's able to settle down quickly and is happy to nap all day.

While Sasha has previously coexisted harmoniously with another dog, we always recommend careful introductions with new furry friends. Her prey drive for small animals suggests that a home without cats or other small pets would be best suited for her. Additionally, due to her exuberance, we advise supervised interactions with young children to prevent accidental tumbles. She does well with adults and loves to snuggle with her people.

But don't be fooled by Sasha's athleticism; once indoors, she's more than happy to trade in her active play for cozy cuddles. With her striking beauty matched only by her sweet temperament, Sasha is truly a gem waiting to brighten someone's life.

Sasha is sure to thrive in a home environment, bringing endless joy and companionship to her lucky new family.

ATTRIBUTES: Sasha has previously done well with other dogs.

More about this rescue

Laila's Legacy missions is to ensure every homeless dog - including those with behavioral or physical challenges - that comes through our doors has a chance at a better life while educating the public on breed bias, individualistic training, and the importance of spay-neuter to lower the impact of returned and abandoned animals in shelters.
