My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Handsome, calm gentleman

Tustin is a 76lb, approx 6 year old American Pitbull Terrier mix. Sweet Tustin was not given the best chances in his life. He lived at the shelter for nearly a year when he was adopted out to someone who refused to keep him on leash, which landed him back in the shelter. Soon after, he was returned to that person and they walked him into a situation where he was attacked by anther dog, suffering a fractured cheek, torn ear and many lacerations. Because of his medical needs and the dog fight, Tustin was placed on Final at the shelter. It is a testament to this dog's character that he never gave up. And thanks to some amazing folks who saw his gentle beauty, he found a foster home with SV Pet Project.

Tustin has been working hard on the important things in life - decompressing, relaxing, and being loved. While he still has a small surgery planned, we expect he will soon be ready for his forever home.

This beautiful boy is housetrained, loves the car, walks great on leash, and is gentle and sweet with every human he has met. Because of his recent trauma, any home with a dog will require time, patience and proper management to help Tustin to feel safe and secure.

Prior to adoption, all dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm, vaccinated (including rabies, if age appropriate) and microchipped.
