Mac is a truly exceptional boy. He is 4-years-old, 70lbs and full of love. We adopted him from a rescue in TN. He knows all the basic commands and has excellent recall. When you put him in a sit/lie down position, he will wait until you say “release” before moving. He loves head scritches and leaning against you for pets. He almost never barks. He gets along with other dogs (off leash) and small children.
His has lived with us for the last 3 years and is a beloved member of their household. However, it’s become clear that he is a country mouse, and we can’t get him the stimulation he needs and deserves. When he gets enough outside off-leash time, he is a model citizen. When he doesn’t get enough exercise, he has the tendency to destroy things, especially when he’s left alone. With gradual desensitization training and plenty of exercise, we are confident that he get over his separation anxiety. He needs to go to an active household and access to off-leash outside time.
