My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Scoutie: Your Future Best Friend!

Hi there! My name is Scoutie, and I'm on a mission to find my forever home. I'm a 2 ½-year-old, 44-pound bundle of joy, wrapped in a handsome orange and white Brittany coat. Life has been quite the adventure so far, but I'm ready to settle down with a loving family who will cherish me as much as I'll cherish them.

A Little About Me:

  • Personality: I'm the definition of well-mannered and easy-going. Whether it's playing fetch in the yard or snuggling on the couch, I'm happiest when I'm with my people.
  • Health: I'm up-to-date on all my vaccines and have a clean bill of health, including being heartworm and tick negative.
  • Housebroken: Yep, no accidents here! I know my way around a house and will be a respectful roommate.
  • Social Butterfly: I get along with everyone—humans, dogs, you name it! My foster mom says I have a heart of gold.

Why I'm Looking for a New Home: My original family had to give me up for my safety, but now I'm in a loving foster home. My foster mom is dedicated to helping other dogs find homes too, so she's helping me find my perfect match.

What I'm Looking For:

  • A Secure Yard: I love to explore, so a physical fence of at least 5 ft is a must to keep me safe while I patrol the neighborhood.
  • Companionship: While I'd enjoy having a doggy sibling, I'm also perfectly happy being your one and only as long as I'm the center of your world.

Ready to make your life a little more wonderful? Let’s get that application started! I can’t wait to meet you and become the newest member of your family.

The adoption fee for TX/Scoutie, who lives in Conroe, TX  is $400,  which helps to offset our vetting and allows NBRAN to rescue more of these wonderful family members.  If you are interested in making TX/Scoutie part of your family, please complete the on-line application by visiting www.nbran.orgContact the South Central Region Coordinators Chris Wagoner at cwnbran@gmail.com  , Melinde Waddle at macgammy@gmail.com and/or Nancy Walker at nwalker@capecod.net  and then let your state coordinator know so we can get the ball rolling.  A phone interview, home visit and vet check will be required as part of the approval process by your state coordinator, before talking to the foster of Scoutie.

Transportation can be arranged up to 1400 miles with the adopter being responsible for at least the last 100 miles.

Our Britts are housed in foster homes. We are NOT a shelter.

Foster homes are our lifeline to saving dogs. We have opportunities for fostering in every state and Canadian Province. Fostering not only helps the dogs, but blesses the humans involved too. Knowing that you are helping a Brittany find a forever loving home is a great feeling! If you can foster please complete a volunteer application under the Help the Dogs button on our website.
