Meet Kona, a 1 year old very handsome golden retriever who came to us from the Riverside shelter where he was found as a stray. He must have had a family at some point, because according to his foster mom ‘Kona is perfect in every way!’

Kona loves other dogs and plays with them beautifully. He is great with the kids he has met, too. He has had no resource issues regarding food, attention or toys. Seems to be a very balanced boy. He rides in the car with no problem, has a blast playing in the yard with toys and going on adventures. He has been left alone for a few hours and has left his foster’s belongings intact, so we consider him to be a very good houseguest!

Kona is still very much a puppy at barely 1 year old, so he does have a lot of energy. He will need daily exercise and mental stimulation, as well as lots of social time with other dogs. He does settle down nicely after he has had his exercise. Kona is super affectionate, so if you want a cuddle bug who will snuggle on the couch with you and be your bed buddy, he might be the one for you.

Overall, Kona is sweet and silly and lots of fun. We are looking for an active family for him, and another playful dog in the home would be ideal.
