My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lily, the adorable 4-year-old Mountain Cur with a heart as big as her adventurous spirit. This past Fourth of July, Lily found herself in a foster home, where she quickly won everyone over with her polite manners and gentle nature.
Lily is a seasoned houseguest who knows her manners well. She is housebroken, walks like a pro on a leash, and even enjoys car rides without a fuss. Her foster family was impressed by how quickly she adapted to their routines and rules, showing her eager-to-please attitude in every interaction.
However, Lily is also an anxious girl who needs a little extra time and patience to feel completely at ease. Loud noises, like fireworks on Independence Day, can make her nervous, but with a calm and supportive environment, she learns to relax and trust
Despite her initial anxieties, Lily is a loving companion who thrives on affection and reassurance. With continued love and understanding, she promises to blossom into the confident and happy pup she's destined to be.

More about this shelter

We serve the pets and people in Northern Illinois and Southeastern Wisconsin. Our mission is clear: To take responsibility for each and every orphaned, abandoned, abused or neglected dog and cat which reaches our doors; to take them in and shelter them; to provide the best medical and physical care possible for them; to nurture them back to health if need be; and finally to place them into warm, loving, adoptive homes where they can enjoy the lives they deserve.
