Hello everyone, my name is Opal! I’m a 5 year old, 12lb Chihuahua/Dachshund mix. I entered rescue with my litter of 5 young puppies after being abandoned by my owners. Now that my puppies have weaned, I am looking for my forever home! I will be ready to go to my new family the week of June 16th.

My foster mom says that if lap dog was a personality trait that would be the main one that need apply to me, and I quite agree! I live to be snuggled on your lap; it is my happy spot in life! When not in your lap, I am following you around the house or laying in a spot close by so I never miss a second of what you are doing! I am the kind of dog who will instantly climb in your lap the second I can, and will always be trying to gain your attention. I crave people above all else, so if you are looking for a dog who is going to be at your side, or more correctly, right in your lap and inches from your face, giving you kisses, then I might be your girl! I have a sensitive and submissive nature, but not one without energy and fun. I am extremely lively, loving to run around and most recently am discovering a love of toys and playing fetch!

I do well with the dog and two cats in my foster home. I live peacefully with my foster mom’s pup, but it’s clear to my foster that I would also do fine without other dogs, so either way is fine by me! I so far have shown no interest in playing with other dogs. It’s important to note that I will guard food items from other dogs, so separate feeding is a must, but I am able to take treats from you while next to another dog and have no issues with that. I am crate trained, and when kept on a schedule, house trained. I have never met a stranger, loving all people both big and small! If you are looking for a semi-active lap dog that will devote every second to adoring you, I might be your girl!

I will be up to date on shots, spayed, and microchipped at the time of adoption. My adoption fee is $250
