My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Roz! A charming and playful dog who loves to enjoy life at a relaxed pace. Roz thrives on gentle introductions and would shine in a home with older kids who know how to take it easy. We believe he may do well with dogs with chill playstyles. When Roz gets overly excited, he sometimes get mouthy and rowdy. Due to this, we recommend a home with teenagers and up. He would need a home with no cats, and no chickens! If you're looking for a fun-loving companion who enjoys the simple pleasures, Roz is your perfect match!

More about this shelter

WHO WE ARE

The Almost Home Humane Society (AHHS) (formerly the Tippecanoe County Humane Society) was founded in 1939 by a group of local animal lovers in Tippecanoe County. Since its beginning more than 60 years ago, the organization has been dedicated to improving the lives of animals in our community.

We are not a government agency, are not affiliated with any national organization, and we are not a United Way Agency. We are an open-admission shelter and we accept all animals in need, regardless of age, health or adoptability. As a local non-profit we exist through the generosity of our community.

MISSION STATEMENT

We, the Almost Home Humane Society (AHHS), care deeply about the comfort and rights of animals and citizens within our area. As such, we strive to enhance the relationship between people and animals through education, to control the pet population through responsible advocacy, and to provide sanctuary for unwanted, lost, and neglected animals.

NON-PROFIT STATUS

The Almost Home Humane Society (AHHS) is an independent, nonprofit agency. We are not funded by any governmental or national animal welfare organization. We are a private, non-profit 501(c) 3 organization dedicated to the prevention of cruelty to animals, relief of suffering among animals and the extension of humane education, and we are governed by a volunteer board of directors.
