Here's what the humans have to say about me:
If you want to make a huge difference in a senior cat’s life, adopt Esther, a petite gal who is about 10 years old and wants to be your one and only “sweet grandma cat.” Affectionate and playful, she loves human company. And for Esther, nothing beats being pet, well, except maybe playing with her toy mice, which you will find very entertaining to watch. No matter their age, cats are young at heart when they are playing – just check out the video of her.
It’s not been all fun and games for Esther. She has not had an easy life, but thankfully, this former street cat from Brooklyn now loves the good life inside. As a senior, though, she’s feeling her age. Esther has hyperthyroidism so she takes Mehtimazole (a compounded treat in her food does the trick), and she gets a monthly Solensia injection ($85), which helps tremendously for her arthritis and neurological pain. And, unbelievably, this girl has been living with a BB gun bullet lodged in her spine for years, which does limit her ability to climb stairs and jump. Esther aslo lost her hearing a few years ago, which has been a blessing in disguise because she doesn’t get startled now by loud noises. Despite all of these challenges, Esther is still determined to enjoy herself and provide her human(s) with joy too.
Esther is looking for a new home because one of her long-time caretakers has become extremely allergic. She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, and is negative for FeLV and FIV. After surviving many tough years, here’s your chance to give Esther the best twilight years imaginable and all the while enjoy her companionship too.

Our cats are almost all in foster homes. Upon approval of your application (including reference check), we will connect you with the foster parent(s) so that you can meet the kitty you're interested in. If it's a good fit, we'll do a home check for safety issues, and then process the paperwork so that you can officially adopt your new family member!

More about this rescue
We are a network of rescuers in Central Brooklyn (primarily in Bed Stuy, Ocean Hill, and Crown Heights) who help each other out. We do both TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) as well as the rescue and adoption of friendly cats and kittens that we find on the streets. We don't have a physical facility, so our cats are usually in foster homes, or staying with us in our own homes. Our goal is to find loving, permanent homes for all the cats we take off the street, and to make better lives for the ones we return there.
