My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Boots is of unknown breed, is approximately 3yo, weighs 8lbs, is neutered, is up to date on his vaccines, is not microchipped, and his FeLV/FIV status is unknown, so he'll need testing.  Boots's guardian adds:  "He loves looking at windows especially with the window open.  He will lay on your chest and purr away while making biscuits (kneading).  He is very loving and affectionate."

Boots's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome him:  "Keeping this cat was never part of the plan.  But when I took him in it was very cold and snow was on the ground.  I have been looking for a home but refuse to let him just go to anyone."

Boots's guardian states the following regarding children:  Since Boots hasn't lived with or otherwise been around children, his guardian doesn't recommend his living with children.

Boots's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Boots lives with a dog, so his guardian recommends his living with dogs, stating "He has rubbed his body up against my dog.  And seems very not bothered by my dog".

Boots's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Although Boots lives with cats, his guardian doesn't recommend his living with cats, stating "When the cat has been around my male cats he is aggressive and tries to go after the one.  He has fought him before.  I'm not sure if it's a male/male dominance thing or what.  I haven't really seen him around a female cat to know".

Boots's guardian describes him as:

Couch potato
Quiet
Playful
Friendly
Likes to be touched
Affectionate
Always at your side
Likes men
Likes women

Boots's guardian describes his ideal future home:

"The ideal home I would love for him to have is one where the person is around who loves him.  Who will let him sit on their lap and sleep with them.  Someone who will keep me updated and send pics.  And where my husband and I can maybe swing by once in a while and see him.  I do think him being around NO cats is best for him (especially male cats)."

More about this rescue

Rescue Well was founded by Christine Sandberg in Baltimore, Maryland in 2011. Since its launch, it’s grown from offering post-adoption support to the city shelter, to offering several programs across Maryland, Washington, DC, and Northern Virginia. Our Programs focus on improving the lives of both pets and its owners. We proudly serve without judgment or expectations and we strictly follow our Rescue Well Engagement Model: ENGAGE > EDUCATE > EMPOWER.

Our organization’s programs are run by volunteers who are actively engaged in front-line intervention, community support, shelter support, and re-homing services for all pets.
