My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Wonderful Coleman: The Handsome Black Lab/Hound/Shepherd Mix in Need of a Loving Home!

Coleman’s Story: Coleman was found abandoned and scavenging for food in southwest Atlanta. A kind-hearted lady took him in, and he’s since made such incredible progress. His ear infection has healed, and his allergies and dry eye are being managed effectively. Despite his rough start, Coleman is a loving, playful dog who’s ready to find his forever home.

About Coleman:

  • Age: Approximately 2 years old
  • Breed: Black Lab/Hound/Shepherd Mix
  • Personality: Sweet, goofy, funny, and full of personality
  • Health: Fully vetted, heartworm negative, on prevention, ear infection and allergies treated

What Coleman Needs:

  • Home: A loving environment where he can continue to thrive.
  • Companion: Ideal for a home with a female or male companion and a fenced yard for play. He would also do well as an only dog and is quiet enough for apartment living.
  • No Small Dogs or Cats: He prefers larger dogs and hasn’t figured out how to interact with small dogs or cats.

Coleman’s Traits:

  • Playful and Smart: Loves toys, is house-trained, and learning to walk well on a leash.
  • Friendly: Great with people and large dogs, gentle and quiet (rarely barks).
  • Car Ride Ready: Rides well in a car and is submissive to other dogs.
  • Affectionate: Loves being in your lap and is eager to be your best friend. Such a sweet, loving boy.

To Do All We Can to Aid in the Rescue, Safety and Welfare of Stray and Abandoned Animals to end as much suffering as possible.

We realize we cannot save the world … but we can try by working with each rescued animal on an individual basis.

Go meet their pets

Because we are not a shelter, do not have a boarding facility, and are not connected with any other agency, we always welcome foster homes where animals can stay temporarily. We also welcome all tax-deductible donations from individuals or foundations.
No donation is too small.
